Utility Pole Wildfire Protection in Washington State
Protection for the poles that power communities
Alamon Utility Services crews were recently in Grant County, Washington, installing fiberglass mesh fire-retardant wrap around the base of utility poles as part of a proactive infrastructure protection effort.
For utilities, pole fire wrap is a practical way to help shield critical infrastructure in wildfire-prone areas. By adding a fire-resistant barrier at the base of wood poles, utilities can reduce the risk of ignition, damage, service disruption, and costly emergency replacement after a fire event.
This work is especially important as utilities across the West continue looking for effective ways to harden their systems, protect communities, and improve grid reliability.
We’re proud to help our customers make their systems safer and more resilient.
