The Right Tools for the Job
Alamon’s wireless division recently added a state-of-the-art piece of testing equipment to its arsenal. Fiber is replacing copper cabling in cell towers, as fiber offers increased scalability and flexibility.
To address this conversion, telecom testing company EXFO has released the FTB 1-PRO, which simplifies Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI) testing. Our technicians can now install and maintain front-haul networks by testing connectivity and data integrity between the remote radio head (RRH) and baseband unit (BBU) in the fiber-fed cell towers. This new device increases accuracy and efficiency, and will reduce the potential for accidents by eliminating tower re-climbs.
