ROTBLOC UTL
PROACTIVE POLE PRESERVATION FOR UTILITY POLES
Be proactive when protecting your wood pole infrastructure investment with ROTBLOC UTL from Alamon. ROTBLOC UTL is a highly durable, cost-effective, non-toxic barrier wrap that acts like a suit of armor to protect wood poles at and below the groundline where they are most vulnerable to rot-induced failure. ROTBLOC UTL is installed ideally prior to pole setting, but can also be installed on any existing pole in the field at any stage of life, and incorporated into Pole Inspection and Treatment programs.

DUAL BENEFIT PROTECTION
ROTBLOC UTL keeps chemical preservatives from migrating from the wood pole into the surrounding soil, while protecting the pole from fungi and bacteria in the soil. This has the dual benefit of maximizing the effectiveness of the chemical in the pole, while dramatically reducing the decay pressure the pole is subjected to. The result is a substantial reduction in pole degradation, reduced ongoing intrusive inspections and remedial treatments, and increased pole service life.
ROTBLOC UTL: INTEGRITY UNDER PRESSURE
ROTBLOC remains intact under pressure from the most severe UVA exposure, humidity, moisture and environmental decay pressure.
ROTBLOC UTL is an ideal solution for poles set in asphalt or concrete.
DECADES OF R&D
Decades of Research and Development went into the compound used for ROTBLOC UTL. It is impervious to chemicals and water, and maintains its integrity under extreme environmental conditions.
ADAPTIVE SEAL
This integrated ROTBLOC UTL feature is an inward facing flange that provides a substantial seal a the top edge. It is designed to maintain contact with the wood utility pole to repel organic debris and help keep it on the outside.
ROTBLOC UTL CASE STUDY
When several new utility poles at the IBEW Local 9 Training Center in Chicago, IL prematurely rotted after just three years, the facility’s Training Director reached out to Alamon. He needed an analysis of why it happened, and a reliable solution going forward.
Download the case study to learn what Alamon discovered, and why ROTBLOC UTL was applied to the facility’s new poles to address the issue.
