PROACTIVE PROTECTION

ROTBLOC Provides Robust Groundline Protection for Utility Poles

Your wood utility poles rot naturally at the groundline because they are a food source for billions of microorganisms in the surrounding soil. That’s a problem when your entire operation relies heavily on their structural integrity.

ROTBLOC UTL from Alamon is a non-toxic, highly durable barrier wrap that protects your poles at the groundline like a suit of armor and keeps out destructive fungi, bacteria and wood boring insects. It also keeps chemical preservatives from conventionally treated poles in the wood, and prevents them from leaching into the surrounding soil.

ROTBLOC UTL from AlamonMade from 100% recycled materials sourced in the Pacific Northwest, ROTBLOC has been thoroughly tested and approved by Oregon State University’s Wood Science and Research Department. After being exposed to the extreme UVA and harsh environmental conditions of Hilo, Hawaii since 2012, ROTBLOC has continued to pass the test with flying colors and shows no signs of cracking, splitting or surface damage.

An ideal solution for protecting new poles before they are installed, ROTBLOC is equally effective when installed on existing poles.

As beneficial as ROTBLOC is, it is also an affordable pole protection option and extremely simple to install. Unlike competitors’ products, ROTBLOC installation requires no specialized tools or materials, merely a staple gun and staples.

Alamon inspectors discovered advanced decay in an IBEW Local 9 training facility pole after only a few years. This is not typical, and is far too soon for this level of decay.

Alamon provided an added layer of ROTBLOC protection before new poles were installed at the IBEW Local 9 training facility in Chicago, IL.
